Spring is truly here in CT and one of my favorite things about this time of year is going outside to check on buds and blooms! Our raspberry bush has started growing back, as has our mint, the forsythia, rhododendron and daffodils are fully bloomed and the buds are starting on our hydrangea tree and bushes. This time of year makes me think of a softer palette, fresh air (open windows yay!), lighter weight materials, foraging branches, and more time outside (and therefore muddy feet and paws coming into the house!). Hence why mudrooms are on my mind!

Maybe it’s painting a piece of furniture, changing out hardware on a dresser, adding texture to a vase or changing out a lampshade! There are so many options from small to big, just open your eyes to the possibilities :) Your aim is to either give something new life, or change something you don’t love as is.

March, when we say “goodbye” to the long winter and “hello” to spring (although we did have snow in CT yesterday)! This mood board is all things light and sweet— light colors, materials and sweet details like florals and scalloped edges. I’m starting to think about what we’ll be planting in our garden and keep peeking at our plants and trees outside to see the buds starting! So exciting!

February—the shortest month and the month when we sometimes get little teases of spring here in CT (like yesterday when it was almost 70º!) but know it’s still a ways off (today calls for snow). For me, this month inspires juxtaposition—of winter and spring, of dark and light colors, cozy and fresh, light and heavy materials. That’s what today’s mood board is all about! In the home I’ve been incorporating fresh florals, light linens beside heavier materials and a freshening up and organization of our home.
