The countdown is on in our household!! We usually wait until the day after Thanksgiving to really start decorating, but I couldn’t help starting with a few festive items! We put up our faux tree in the entryway (we get a real one for the family room). I love the way the string lights show through the front door! Garnet Hill gifted us this beautiful hand-hooked pillow that fits perfectly on this bench and this fun countdown to Christmas block set that I couldn’t resist! How cute is it?! I love that guests are greeted by this site, and they will know exactly how many days until Christmas :)
Read MoreCharleston is a place that has been on my “must visit” list for quite some time. When we got news that we had a wedding to attend in Myrtle Beach we just knew we had to extend the trip and go to Charleston! I’m SO glad we did. It was the perfect time of year because crowds were down since kids were back in school but it was still warm. It was just such an amazing time and I highly recommend it. We were there for 6 days but there is still so much we didn’t get to do. I told Dan if we ever buy a vacation home, we are getting one in Charleston! :)
I’m sharing some of the things we did and enjoyed below!
Read MoreAs much as I want to get a new roof, add a front porch and other little updates, it’s important to remind ourselves how far we’ve come with this house, especially since we are doing a lot of the work ourselves. I decided to take a look back at how our house looked when we bought it and wow! I hardly recognize it!
Read MoreI absolutely LOVE this season! Decorating with pumpkins, gourds and fall plants allows for so much creativity and color. I had so much fun decorating our front steps. Everything is from our local mom and pop nursery. The guy ringing me out said “wow you have quite the assortment here” 😂. And I have to say it was a workout getting these pumpkins into my car, then back out and up the pathway to the front steps! So, if you’re looking for some exercise, just decorate your front porch.
Read MoreThese window boxes make our house exterior feel complete (besides the need for a new roof 😜)!! When we took out the overgrown trees on this side of the house and decided to forgo shutters when we had the house painted, it just seemed too bare on this part of the house. So, we decided to add some window boxes! Dan made these by hand and honestly his handiwork never disappoints!
Read MoreIf you’ve been following along with us then you probably know we’ve been working on our front landscaping, totally starting from scratch! If you saw this post you know a bit about our plans and how we had a professional come in and work with us on a design plan. We are so excited to reveal the final look today! All details below, so read on :)
Read MoreI know this is a long title! Anyway, this is a post I’ve been thinking about sharing since we did our entryway renovation. Once we did our other interior renovations and lived with them for a while, I strongly regretted one of our design decisions. It was actually more of a design neglect because we honestly didn’t think about it—it was more like oh this is how everyone does it so this is how it’s done. But then the more interior education and studying up I did on styles I admire, I realized the mistake…
Read MoreAnchor’s art table has been sitting sort of dormant in our upstairs office since he uses our larger dining room table to do art projects on. I really thought it was such a shame because it’s such a nicely made table and I really don’t like having things in our home that we don’t use. So, I thought painting it and creating a chalkboard top could be a fun way to get it back in use again!
Read MoreThe bedding was given to me by Garnet Hill in exchange for my honest review.
I’m sure by now you guys know I love switching up our bedding for the seasons :) I think it’s such a great way to “decorate” for the new season, plus it’s practical since we need to change up the layers anyway! I’m so happy to be partnering with Garnet Hill again to use their beautifully made bedding for our fall look.
