I posted a while back on my instagram a list of some principles and tips (I don’t like to say “rules” in design, as I feel so much of design and decorating comes from a feeling, but it’s helpful to be guided by some principles!) for shelf styling, and figured I’d go into a little more depth with a blog post! It’s also this month’s challenge: style or restyle shelves in your home.

One of the most common requests I get is to help with recommendations on how to decorate above the fireplace mantel. It can be tricky to get it just right, but over the years I’ve noticed that I have some go-to, simple formulas that are almost always foolproof! I’m sharing 3 of those today in hopes it can help some of you get inspiration on how to style your mantel.

Today’s Home Basics post is all about organic bedding! I shared sheets and comforters/duvet covers in this post, but if you’re looking for organic based foundation pieces like pillows and duvet inserts, many of these sites have those options as well. As for organic mattresses we have the Saatva Classic and are very happy with it.
