Art For Your Home: Some of My Favorite Artists and Their Artwork

Art has a very special place in my heart. I’ve always been an artist and went on to major in both illustration and graphic design in college. I so appreciate thoughtful art in a home— when it’s not mass-produced it creates a personalized, one-of-a-kind vibe in a space. Also, when you buy directly from an artist it creates that special connection to the art, really making your home look and feel intentional, purposeful and unique.

We have lots of pretty, neutral table lamp options at all price budgets to share with you today! I just went through quite the ordeal ordering a lamp for the library, so am sharing my tips with you guys in hopes I can save you from making the same mistakes! The first lamp I ordered was too big/overpowering for the table and then I ordered this cutie but the wrong kind of shade. But it’s finally set up and I’m really happy with how it looks in here! I propped it on a couple of books for height and interest.

Nursery Design Plans

I can’t believe I’m designing the nursery and that the baby will be here in 3 months! It took us a really long time to get pregnant this time around, so we are extra grateful and excited to welcome another babe into our life <3 We don’t know the sex of the baby (we didn’t find out with Anchor, either), so I designed a neutral nursery. I focused on calming colors, natural materials, and varying textures-the usual root + dwell style!

How to Purchase With Purpose to Create a Home You Love

I spoke a bit on Instagram stories about a week ago about creating a home you’re proud of and that is and for YOU. This requires knowing your wants, needs, preferences and values. But if we figure this out, it is a way to make sure we are purchasing with purpose and only bringing items into our home that bring us joy and aligns with our values. Why is this important? By having a home that works for us and is filled with pieces that are personal to us, we will truly find joy in our home. We won’t be constantly editing and growing tired of our decor. We won’t feel the need to follow trends and styles that aren’t authentic to who we are.

Below I’m sharing tips along with a free PDF printable for you to fill out to get to know yourself and your home style better, and to then keep somewhere that you can access before making purchases.

Anchor's Bed Refresh With Garnet Hill

The bedding was given to me by Garnet Hill in exchange for my honest review.

We gave Anchor’s bed a little refresh! It’s no secret that I love linen bedding. It’s natural, breathable, soft, works year-round. Most of all, I love the lived-in, organic look of linen— it always makes me just want to jump right in! So naturally I had to choose this wonderful fabric for his updated bedding! Garnet Hill is definitely my go-to for linen bedding— I can trust that they’re free of harmful substances and I love that they’re garment-washed for extra softness! They also have beautiful color choices.
