January Mood Board & 5 Things

The first month of the year is coming to a close, and for me it was all about getting into a routine again after the holidays, slow living, gathering inspiration and setting goals with action plans. Some things that are inspiring me lately are the implementation of dark woods in the home, 90s colonial design (whhattt?! more on that below) patterns and unique light fixtures!

Here are my “5 Things” this month:

  1. I’m not one for design trends per se, but I’m seeing and reading about 90s style coming back. When a trend resonates with me, I like to incorporate it in small ways, making sure I don’t veer too far away from my personal style. I came across “Classic American Decorating” book while thrifting and picked it up. A lot of it is inspiring to me and it was published in 1999! Bottom right photo on mood board is a picture from the book.

  2. Oakley’s room is coming together little by little! If you saw this post then you know we completed the little cozy corner for rocking :) And if you saw my instagram stories you know we had a little fiasco with the light fixture but I’m happy to report we have a new one and it’s installed and I love it! Here’s a photo of it down below!

  3. I’m very excited about the local giveaway I’m doing with my friend Lacey from LK Interiors! We are offering a local winner 1 small room refresh. You can enter via my instagram stories if you’re local!

  4. We started making these valentines for Anchor’s school valentine swap! We added our own touches—a smile and a lollipop :). It’s been fun working on them together (and is a great cutting activity for kids!).

  5. I’ve been getting back into these meditation minis podcasts. I love how they are short because I’m more likely to do them, and there are so many to choose from.
