Although any time of year is appropriate to reevaluate business plans and/or personal goals, the new year always feels like a great time to refresh some things! I took some time to really home in on what vibe, look and feel I want our home and business to have for the year ahead, as well as some plans to create more community, inspiration and helpful tips.

I’m still keeping with the warm, approachable and natural look that we have come to be known for, but will be adding in more muted colors and patterns in our projects in a way that keeps with and enhances our soulful style.

We also put together our prospective home project list! I’m very excited about tackling these this year.

Finish Oakley’s bedroom

We have come a long way since this before photo, but still have a few things to do— the built in bookcase being the biggest piece to complete.

Refresh the fireplace area

We’d like to remove these “eyeball” lights and install sconces on either side of the fireplace.

Laundry room

This space may be small but the plans we have for it are big. Lots of rearranging, replacing the door with a window and hopefully installing a pocket door for space saving purposes.

Powder bath

The powder bath is right across from the laundry room and we’d love to tackle that this year! I plan to have materials tie into the laundry room so it makes sense to do them at the same time (or at least one right after the other).

New roof

This was supposed to happen last year but didn’t! A new roof will really give our exterior a clean look. We painted the exterior, did all new landscaping, replaced the front door, etc. so this would really finish it off nicely!

Stayed tuned for progress of these renovations! What projects are you working on this year?
