Our Veggie Garden Reveal + All the Materials We Used
Sorry for picture overload here, but I LOVE THIS VEGGIE GARDEN!! It is the garden of my dreams and so worth the wait!
Dan busted his butt getting the garden ready for me this spring even with all the other projects and things he had going on, and I am so, so grateful! I had a very specific look in my mind of how I wanted this garden to be, and he executed it better than I could have imagined.
As much as we wanted to be finished with the project, I always envisioned the garden fence white, so we worked together one Saturday and painted it and I’m so glad we did! We used the same paint color as our house trim (BM snowfall white) so they tie in together.
I also envisioned plants surrounding the garden, but decided that just along the front is perfect. Dan created these mulch beds and planted catmint. The pretty Belgian block entrance was my dad’s idea and I LOVE the extra character it adds to the garden and it also acts as a barrier from letting critters squeeze in under the gate.
Materials:
landscaping fabric (put down under gravel so weeds don’t come through)
cedar wood posts
1x4 cedar for railings
concrete mix
steel hardware cloth fencing (galvanized so it doesn’t rust!)
galvanized screws and washers to affix fencing to wood
primer
paint (BM snowfall white)
belgian blocks
organic soil and compost
Hoping to get some goodies from our garden but honestly I just have been loving the act of tending to it. It’s fun going out every day and checking on it, watering it and caring for it! It’s such a wonderful family activity.
