New Summer Bedding + Tips For Getting That Perfect "Undone" Look

The bedding was given to me by Garnet Hill in exchange for my honest review.

I’m all for swapping out bedding for the seasons! This summer I wanted a splash of color and that perfectly undone, relaxed look—all things I associate with the summer season! That’s why I was SO excited when Garnet Hill reached out asking if I wanted to partner and promote something from their summer home line!

I love the company—it totally jives with our style. It’s full of natural colors and materials. Anchor’s bedding is also from Garnet Hill and we love it!

Anyway, I fled right to their linen bedding basics! The EILEEN FISHER line immediately grabbed my attention because of the beautiful solid colors and double fringe edging. I also loved the colors of the Garnet Hill relaxed-linen collection!

I absolutely love the relaxed look of linen and it’s so soft and breathable for the summer months. The hardest part was choosing which colors to go with from all of their gorgeous options!

I ended up choosing this soft, peach quartz color for the sheets and pillow cases, and an ochre pillow cover from the Garnet Hill relaxed-linen collection for the throw pillow.

Then, I simplified our bedding with these beautiful sheets as the starting point :)

To achieve that perfectly undone look, here are my 3 tips:

  1. Choose a relaxed, natural material.

A relaxed material like linen easily wrinkles which instantly gives a laid-back and super cozy look. Bonus, no need to worry about ironing or leaving it sitting in the dryer too long AND they only get BETTER with every wash!

  2. Don’t “make” the bed. In fact, “unmake” it a bit.

Another bonus!! Besides unraveling twisted sheets and putting anything that fell off the bed back on in the morning, there’s no need to make your bed catalogue perfect.

  3. Use a top sheet but forget the “extras”.

I’m not usually one for top sheets, but I do prefer having one in the summer. Plus, the top sheet really helps give that extra texture and relaxed look we’re after. As far as extras such as shams and more than a single throw pillow, I’d say forget ‘em!

  4. Don’t tuck.

Instead of tucking in the flat sheet or any blankets on top, place them simply on the bed. Fold over blankets or coverlets so the sheets are visible.

Oh, and having someone jump all over the bed helps, too (see below for what I mean 😂)

These sheets are so pretty, they work so well on their own. And don’t they photograph beautifully?! The only problem is our bed looks so inviting now that every time I walk into the room I want to jump in!

When Anchor saw our new sheets he goes “WOW!! Our bed looks soooo cool!” and then jumped right on 😂.

If you’re looking for linen sheets I highly recommend these. They are pure, 100% linen, come in beautiful colors and are soft, breathable and temperature regulating, perfect for these warmer months.
