Tips for Building a Magical, Cozy Fort

We (I..) love getting creative building cozy forts and watching Anchor enjoy them! There are a few things I've found along the way to make the forts magical and inviting, and fun of course!

1. Get creative with placement. In the one above we built the fort in the nook around the corner of our staircase. Beds, under tables or over couches work great, too!

2. Vary your building materials. Use sheets, throws, towels, blankets and silks. Use string and clothespins to make peaks and hold up the top in open areas.

3. What goes inside counts! Cozy sheepskin rugs, pillows, books and small toys.

4. Pretty it up with some twinkle lights. I love the battery-operated ones so that we don't have to worry about building close to an outlet. These ones from Amazon have different settings for the lights to do different things which Anchor loves!
