DIY Winter Table Centerpiece

It's that wonderful time of year when we gather with friends and family and either be entertained or the ones who are entertaining. If you're looking for a way to bring some cozy, festive vibes to your next dinner party, I have the perfect centerpiece for you!

Read on below to learn how to make your own birch log candleholder centerpiece. (that's a mouthful, huh?!)

you will need:

-somewhat thick birch branches that we will size down to make 3 smaller logs (you can either forage for your own or buy them pre-cut at the store.
-twine
-4 screws
-drill
-3 stake taper candle holders
-3 tapered candles
-your choice of foliage. We chose silver dollar and seeded eucalyptus
 

1. Cut down your branches

Size to 3 smaller logs, same length. Try to choose the parts of the branch that are fairly straight so it will all fit together nicely.

2. Fit the logs together

Get them in a position that is as tight of a fit as possible.

3. Tie twine around the logs

Make sure it's tied nice and tight on either side.

4. Drill in screws

Drill from the bottom logs to the top log at an angle. You will have a total of 4 screws drilled in.

5. Cut the twine

Flip the logs over, make sure it's nice and sturdy and no screws are sticking through.

6. Stick the candle stakes in

Depending on how soft your piece of birch is, you can either stick the candle stakes right in, spacing them equal distances apart on the top log, or you may have to screw a whole first to fit it in. Just make sure the hole you screw is not bigger than the candle's stake.

7. Have fun styling it!

Place candles in the holders, set the centerpiece on top of a pretty tablecloth or runner and add in some foliage. The more organic and wild the better!
