Our Entryway Renovation Reveal
Okay, it’s long overdue, but our entryway renovation is finally finished and we are so excited to share it with you guys today! It was a much more difficult and time consuming project than we could have imagined but we are so pleased with how it turned out!
If you want to look back and catch up with this renovation, you can read about our initial plans and see our moodboard here, read about our front door replacement here and our herringbone floors in this post. In this update post we talk about the paint colors!
The hardest, most time consuming part of this project was definitely the staircase. Dan ripped up the bottom two steps and built completely new ones to create a box shape instead of the half circle. He installed brand new newel posts and balusters. He sanded down all the treads and railing and sealed them clear to better match our floors.
We replaced the closet and basement doors with two panel, shaker style doors for a cleaner, modern look. We swapped out the light fixture, painted the walls, ceiling, moulding, doors, posts and balusters. Dan built the gorgeous bench with reclaimed wood and I absolutely love the raw, simple look.
We had a photo I took on our vacation to the Bahamas of a peacock we saw on an island printed and framed by Frame It Easy. We went with the acrylic instead of glass because this room gets so much light I knew there would always be a glare on glass. The frame is wood in “honey”. We are so happy with how it looks!
The beautiful handwoven rug in front of the door is from Etsy and we love how it compliments the yellow door!
We tried to keep everything else neutral, airy, light and simple. The pillows I handmade, the pampas grass is from Etsy and we already had the vase in storage.
