We are getting so close!! We’ve done a few things that really make this space feel like it’s getting somewhere. Painting takes so long that weeks can go by where you hardly see a change, but we’ve done things like put up the light fixture and paint the interior of the front door yellow!

It was sort of a last minute, on a whim decision to paint the front door a color. We love neutrals but also love to add in color where it seems right. Yellow is such a happy, welcoming color so it was a pretty easy decision!

You can take a look back at this post to see our initial design board for this space, and this post for more about our floors!

As you will see below, a lot of painting has been done! We painted the stair risers, the posts, all the baseboards, moulding, walls and ceiling. And when I say “we” I basically mean Dan did most of the painting :) The stair treads and railings were sealed also.

We painted and put up the medallion and installed the light fixture. Dan updated all of the switches to dimmers/rockers and updated the outlets. There are so many small things that go into renovating a space that would totally go unnoticed but take a lot of time.

We still have some small things to do along with painting and installing our new closet and basement doors and hardware and painting the inside of the closets. Then we can start putting furniture/decor in!!

Walls, ceiling and trim work is all painted in White Dove by Benjamin Moore. Walls are eggshell and trim is satin.

Front door is painted in Hawthorne Yellow by Benjamin Moore

Light Fixture is from West Elm
