Anchor's Dresser Makeover

Anchor's bedroom is SO close to done, we cannot wait to share it with you guys! One of the projects we did for his room was to refresh his beautiful vintage dresser to fit in more with the style of his room. As much as I love good, vintage dresser pulls, they were a little too serious for the style of his bedroom and a pull was missing anyway. BUT the dresser has been passed down for generations and is so gorgeous, so there was no way we were getting rid of it. It just needed a little love!

Dan sanded it down (which took way longer than I had expected!), I restained it, then updated the pulls.

It has a more laid-back, youthful look now that better fits in with his bedroom, without taking away from the beautiful shape of the dresser itself. Let us know what you think!

Here's how it looked before. Beautiful to begin with!

I knew I really wanted rope wrapped pulls for his dresser, but a lot of the stores I searched on had really bad reviews of the product. I was SO happy when I found these on etsy! They are gorgeous and good quality.

For the middle pull I chose this really pretty tinted glass and iron knob in "mint".

So first we (okay Dan) sanded it completely down to the wood.

Then I wiped it all down to get rid of any dust before staining. I used Old Barn Milk Paint Stain in "Rustic". These stains are non-toxic, odor-free and have the topcoat built right in! It was super easy to work with. I only applied 2 coats.

It's a beautiful, special piece of furniture that I'm so glad we can have in our home.

What do you guys think?!
