Our Eat-in Kitchen Reveal

We honestly didn't do much as far as changes go to this space besides updating the french door hardware and swapping in a new pendant light, but the decor really makes this space special. We have a dining room but this is where we enjoy most of our meals. We chose a round area rug to warm up the space. natural furniture, a round table instead of rectangle to allow for better flow and space, and interesting details like this fun pendant light and our homemade "eat local" sign to give the space personality. A pretty wooden bowl filled with lemons gives this space a pop of color.
We plan to renovate the entire kitchen in the future, but for now we are just making sure the decor is homey, fresh and welcoming.
I wish we had a better before picture!! As you can see the door knobs and light fixture were steel before. That is literally all we changed and it really made a nice difference!
These white, crossback chairs break up the brown tones between the table and rug and tie in with the light. The table is the perfect warm brown and adds a raw, natural feel to this space.
Dan cut me a piece of reclaimed wood, I painted it white then painted "eat local" on it. My inspiration was the fun, organic, colorful signs we would see on vacations to the islands at juice bars and such.
We waited 2 months for this pendant because it was backordered and we just knew it was perfect for our style and this space. So worth the wait! The design is inspired by paper lanterns, and we love that handmade, airy look. We wanted something that wouldn't totally obstruct the view from the kitchen into the family room.
