Media Console Furniture Makeover

Okay guys, this is now my favorite furniture piece on our home! Maybe it's because of the love and hard work that went into it, the vision come to life or maybe it's just because it's darn beautiful, but we love it!

We found this console at Home Goods a while back on super clearance because it was missing a door. We saw it as the perfect opportunity to make it into something unique to fit our interior aesthetic. I had been in love with this piece for some time and we used that as our inspiration!

We are so glad we could breathe new life into this piece that may have otherwise gone in the trash.

I had such a particular vision and Dan did a phenomenal job bringing it to life. Here's what it looked like before—missing a door and not a style that fits in with our home.

The simplicity of this piece really fits in with our laid-back vibe. We used only 2 materials—open cane webbing which was the inspiration and reclaimed hemlock wood. Dan stripped and cut the wood to build a frame and stapled the webbing to the back. We went with simplistic handles for the drawers in matching hemlock. We nixed our original plan for knobs on the doors as it would take away from the simplicity of the piece.

The open cane webbing is functional as it is beautiful. It allows air to pass through so the media don't overheat, while also hiding everything on the shelves.

We definitely think it fits in more with our natural, airy, light and fresh vibe now! What do you guys think?!

We hope this inspires you to see the possibilities in a thrifted or broken piece of furniture!
