I’m not going to lie— my heart belongs to fall, so I get very excited when September hits and cooler temps, fall colors, pumpkin spiced everything and slower days are in the near future! Although August is still at the height of summer, I can’t help but think about Autumn days. I see August as a bit of a transitional month— hot and still filled with beach days, swimming and dinners on the back deck, but with the knowledge that fall is just around the corner. This month’s mood board reflects that — warm whites with some light browns peeping in and end of summer hydrangeas.

5 Things:

  1. There still may be time to dry out and/or preserve some of your favorite summer flowers! I shared a reel here where I showed how I dry out lavender and hydrangeas, two of my favorites! But if you don’t have anything to dry out, I shared some really pretty dried and preserved florals for fall in this post that you can purchase.

  2. We had a landscape architect come by because we would love to do an overhaul of our backyard. If we decide to go through with it he will draw up some plans for us and I will share the journey with you guys!

  3. We were talking about what our next home project will be after we finalize Oakley’s room and the roof. We are thinking the downstairs powder room! Stay tuned!

  4. This time of year has me thinking about sitting around an outdoor fire with hot apple cider, and I have an entire Pinterest board dedicated to outdoor fire pits/fire places! Let me know which is your favorite!

  5. I shared a post on simple ways to make your home feel like fall and included a few roundups of some products perfect for the fall home. Here are a few of my favorites, but you can see the full post here.
