Travel Guide: Charleston, SC

Charleston is a place that has been on my “must visit” list for quite some time. When we got news that we had a wedding to attend in Myrtle Beach we just knew we had to extend the trip and go to Charleston! I’m SO glad we did. It was the perfect time of year because crowds were down since kids were back in school but it was still warm. It was just such an amazing time and I highly recommend it. We were there for 6 days but there is still so much we didn’t get to do. I told Dan if we ever buy a vacation home, we are getting one in Charleston! :)

I’m sharing some of the things we did and enjoyed below!

Aruba

We went to Aruba for Dan’s brother’s wedding and it was such a blast! The wedding was a beautiful, simple ceremony on the beach. Although we spent most time on the resort to be with family, we did rent a jeep on the last day to explore some of the island and I’m SO glad we did! We saw amazing scenery and had a lot of fun hopping out and exploring.

Bahamas Part I

We took a break from the winter cold and headed to the Bahamas for a week! It was the first time visiting there for all of us :) It is SO gorgeous and the weather was absolutely perfect the entire trip (minus one rain-shower that lasted for about an hour). All the locals we came across were super nice, too!

DC Roadtrip

In May we took a road trip down to Georgetown and then to Virginia to visit our friends! It was Anchor's first long car ride (over 7 hours all the way back home from VA, not including stops) and he did great! There were definitely a few times we had to pull over because of a crying fit, but as soon as he got out of that carseat he was completely fine! We made sure to make some big pitstops, and ended up finding some great places! I think it's so important to take breaks on a long road trip.
